ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ivy Richards grew up in a small Houston area suburb, and moved into the heart of the city after college.  As a child, Ivy was surrounded by art and music.  She remembers contemplating the simple complexity of Picasso’s Bullfight II and Toros y Toreros from prints hanging in her childhood home.  Her parents, Tom and Cindy, encouraged that creative spirit and continue to inspire her in her adventure as an artist, a working professional, and philanthropist.

Ivy was lucky to find mentorship in another local artist, who taught her the many techniques she uses in her abstract, liquid acrylic and mixed media works.

In addition to creating art, Ivy is continuing her education at The University of Houston and is actively involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters as a ‘Big Sister’ and Young Professionals Board Member.  She also volunteers at a local dog rescue, practices yoga and travels around the world, collecting memories.
